Prior to becoming and artist, Sam Charles enjoyed a career as a camera assistant in the field of TV and Film, learning from Oscar winning cameramen how to frame and capture a subject in order to optimally project their best attributes.

In many ways, the photography of an animal reveals the essence of their being - a moment in time that captures micro-expressions in the face, movement in the body, and a stance that uniquely identifies its pedigree. All these traits are unique to the animal that you know and love, and by working with Sam Charles to produce a photographic portfolio, your expectations will be and rewarded with images that will last a lifetime.

These images are a small selection of the artists’ portfolio, all taken with a high resolution digital camera for an accurate colour gamut and beautiful bokeh. Photography takes place out of the studio and in a place that the subject is most comfortable - the back garden, local dog park or simply in their favourite bed.
